Goals, Objectives and Strategies (Action Plans)
The major goals for the plan period are as under
- Faculty Development & Excellence
- Academic Excellence for promoting in quality in teaching learning and pedagogical research
- To promote quality related research studies, scholarship and creativity
- To focus on social responsibility, Public engagement, outreach activities, extension activities
- To focus on empowerment of women
- To promote good governance & collaborate with stakeholders for quality education evaluation,Promotion and sustenance.
1. Faculty Development & Excellence
- Increase the size and quality of faculty in strategically important areas
- Significant ally increase the diversity of faculty through new hires and enhanced retention efforts
- Ensure competitive faculty compensation within the norms of the institution
- Develop and implement policies to retain high valued faculty
- Device and implement new mechanism or policies for rewarding outstanding faculty based on performance
- Foster an exciting intellectual environment by providing opportunities
- Develop ways to enable faculty to focus their time on being highly productive in their core academic activities (Teaching, Learning, Research, Creativity and Social Responsibility)
2. Academic Excellence for promoting in quality in learning and pedagogical research
- Create and sustain a culture that supports teaching excellence in all academic units. (Departments)
- Strengthen institutional structures that promote pedagogical innovations for all the programs
- Provide a more unified and shared educational experience for undergraduates
- Strengthen the educational impact of national and international opportunities and experiences for students.
- Promote the health and well-being of students (under-graduate, graduate and professional) as a foundation for academic and life success
- Strengthen efforts to attract and educate an excellent diverse body of undergraduate students
3. To promote quality related research studies, scholarship, creativity; to develop infrastructure for Library and ICT
- Increase the No. of Departments or graduate courses that have achieved good results
- Build and sustain State level and National Level standards in all the Departments of Arts, Social Sciences, Sciences, Physical Sciences, Life Sciences, Commerce and Business Management
- Strengthen support for important inter-disciplinary areas, while ensuring excellence in disciplines as foundation
- Significantly improve institution vide services for the administration and support of research grants (including Government and Other sources)
- Maintain and selectively strengthen in cost effective ways core infrastructure for research, scholar ship and creativity, including in particular libraries and share research facilities
- Taking measures for e-learning, e-library and learning management systems (LMS).
4. To focus on social responsibility, Public engagement, outreach activities, extension activities
- Make social responsibility and public engagement a distinctive feature at St’ Pious
- Construct a unified concept and vision for St. Pious social responsibility mission
- Develop rigorous and systematic evaluations of all reach and extension activities
- Consciously connect social responsibility in Public engagement to on campus research and educational strengths
- Promote and develop stronger collaborations between St’ Pious and stake holders
5. To focus on empowerment of women
- To plan and conduct workshops, Guest Lectures and Seminars on the theme of Women empowerment
- To promote, facilitate and conduct Research on Women Empowerment and allied themes and draw resolutions for publications
- To bring awareness, promote, educate, train and facilitate norms for Women’s Economic, Societal and Cultural Empowerment
- To enlighten, educate, facilitate and extend legal protections and reforms and regulations
- To conduct specific activities and programmes to sensitize gender equity and also address the unigender issues.
6. To promote good governance & collaborate with stakeholders for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance in education.
- To provide for Leadership, Perspective and Strategic Planning in consonance with Mission and Vision Statement
- To provide Organization Structure, process and formulate policies to enable democratic and participatory Administration; and Strategy development and Strategy Deployment
- To formulate Policies on Delegation across the organization structure for effective and timely decision making
- To provide for Institutional Policies for effective Administration and Governance
- To provide for and ensure Good Governance in the entire organization in all its activities
- To provide for and implement e-governance in all facets of administration
- To provide, empower and ensure participation of Teachers in Decision Making
- To provide for Financial Management and Resource Mobilisation
- To strengthen IQAC and its activities for the holistic development of the Institution & for Quality Evaluation, Promotion and Sustenance in Education.
