UG Examination Process

All the Under Graduate Programs offered are 3 years program spread over 6 Semesters with respect to Teaching and Evaluation. Each Academic year is divided into Two Semesters. The First or Odd Semester is from June – December and the Second or Even Semester is from December to May. The College has adopted the system of valuation based both on Continuous Internal Assessment (C.I.A.) and Semester-End Examination (S.E.E). Each Semester has Three Internal Examinations (C.I.A.) along with one Semester End Examination (S.E.E) as a part of a reliable and sustainable evaluation process.

UG Examination Structure

The Examinations have Three Internal Examinations (C.I.A.) along with one Semester End Examination (S.E.E) in the ratio of 30:70.

COMPONENTS OF C.I.A (THEORY)

The S.E.E. will be in the form of a comprehensive written examination for each course at the end of the Semester and most of the subjects have Practical Examination also. Semester End Examinations are conducted for Odd Semesters, SEMESTER I, III & V (REGULAR) in the month of Nov/Dec and for Even Semesters (SEMESTER II, IV & VI), in the month of April/May. The External Examiners will be appointed by the Controller of Examinations from panel of Examiners recommended by the Board of Studies of each department. The functions of the External Examiners are to set the question papers, prepare the scheme of valuation, value the answer scripts and prepare the marks lists. Notification for these examinations will be released 45 days prior to the date of examinations.

Post Graduation (CBCS)

All the Post Graduate Programs offered are 2 years program spread over 4 Semesters with respect to Teaching and Evaluation. Each Academic year is divided into Two Semesters. The College has adopted the system of valuation based both on Continuous Internal Assessment (C.I.A.) and Semester-End Examination (S.E.E). Marks in each course is a part of a reliable and sustainable evaluation process.

EXAMINATION STRUCTURE FOR SEM I & II ( w.e.f. 2025 -2026)

Each Semester has Three Internal Examinations (C.I.A.) and subject wise assessments along with one Semester End Examination (S.E.E) in the ratio of 40:60.

PG Examination Structure for Semester III & IV

Each Semester has Four Internal Examinations (C.I.A.) and subject wise assessments along with one Semester End Examination (S.E.E) in the ratio of 50:50. Marks in each course is a part of a reliable and sustainable evaluation process.

Semester-End Examinations (SEE)

The S.E.E. will be in the form of a comprehensive written examination for each course at the end of the Semester and most of the subjects have Practical Examination also. Semester End Examinations are conducted for Odd Semesters, SEMESTER I & III (Reg) in the month of Feb/March and for Even Semesters, SEMESTER II & IV (Reg & BL), in the month of Aug/Sep. The External Examiners will be appointed by the Controller of Examinations from panel of Examiners recommended by the Board of Studies of each department. The functions of the External Examiners are to set the question papers, prepare the scheme of valuation, value the answer scripts and prepare the marks lists. Notification for these examinations will be released 45 days prior to the date of examinations.

Semester Backlog Examinations

• UG & PG Theory and Practical backlog examinations are held in even semesters only.
• No provision for backlog exams in odd semesters.
• Backlogs can be attempted n+2 times only under the same syllabus.
• SGPA is awarded only when all courses are cleared.
• Improvement exams are not allowed when backlog exists.

Malpractice

• A student is guilty of malpractice if she is found attempting to copy, copying or in possession of incriminating material, any papers or writing on any part of the body.
• A committee comprising of the Principal, Controller of Examinations and the concerned Invigilator will investigate cases of malpractice along with the Grievance Committee. The decision of the Committee shall be the final.
• Parents of such students will be informed about the same and counselling is given to such students.
• In case of malpractice during continuous assessments, the student found guilty by the committee will be awarded zero marks in the concerned paper.
• In case Semester End Examinations, if the student is found guilty of committing any malpractice all the papers mentioned in the Hall ticket shall stand cancelled.

Revaluation

• Revaluation of answer scripts is applicable for all theory courses of S.E.E except practical subjects.
• Notification for revaluation will be released by examination branch on the day of results declaration.
• The application for revaluation after the last date will not be entertained.
• Answer scripts are evaluated by two examiners independently.
• If the average marks of two examiners do not differ by more than 10% from the original marks, the original marks will be retained.
• If the average marks of the two examiners differ by more than 10% from the original marks then the original marks will be removed and the average marks of revaluation will be taken into account and awarded to the candidate, and the revised results declared.
